The No Claim Discount (NCD) is a reward scheme received by motor policy holders for not making a claim during the preceding 12 months.


How much of No Claim Discount (NCD) am I entitled to?

Consumers are eligible for NCD ranging from 0% to 55% of the premium payable depending on the type of vehicle, coverage and number of years claim not intimated. For a private car, the scale of NCD ranges from 0% to 55% as provided in the policy/certificate whereas for motorcycles and commercial vehicles, it ranges from 0% to 25%.

This policy is non-cancelable by the insurer until the occurrence of any of the following :
(a) non payment of premium or premium not made on time.
(b) Fraud or misrepresentation of the material fact during application.
(c) the policy is cancelled at the request of the policyholder.
(d) total claim of the policy have reached the Overall Lifetime Limit specified and/or on the death of the insured person.
(e) the insured person attains the maximum coverage age of 80 years old.

FAQ for ACPG AXA SmartCare Optimum Medical Card Plan

  • Who is eligible to join?
    If you are in the age group of 1 to 59 as of your next birthday, you are eligible to join. We offer renewal up to age 80 provided you were already a member on your 59th birthday. Dependent children (unmarried & unemployed) must be above 15 days and under 19 years of age, or under 23 years of age if the child is still on full-time higher education in Malaysia. If a policy is taken up for one member only, who is a child below 2 years of age, the child’s health records have to be submitted for underwriting review.
  • Is there a surgical schedule?
    No. There is no surgical schedule. Benefits are payable on a full refund basis.
  • What is cashless admission?
    This means that you don't have to pay deposits to the hospital if you are admitted to one of the AXA panel hospitals. We will pay, provided the nature of accident or illness is covered under the policy.
  • What does international emergency medical assistance provide?
    It provides 24 hours telephone medical consultation, telephone referral to doctors and hospitals, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation services outside Malaysia.
  • Are the Premiums Guaranteed?
    We may charge the premiums in the future as the premium rates are not guaranteed. If we need to charge, this will be based on our overall experience in underwriting this class of business and any changes in Premiums will be notified and made on your policy anniversary.
  • Is the Renewal Guaranteed?
    There is no selective Renewal Loading or Exclusion on individual if claim is made during previous year. No restriction on lifetime limit and full annual limit is restated at Policy Renewal . However, the renewal of the Policy is at the option of Policyowner until the occurrence of any of the following:-

a) non payment of premiums or premiums not made on time
b) fraud or misrepresentation of material fact during application
c) the Policy is cancelled at the request of the policyholder
d) on the death of the policyholder or an Insured Person
e) the Insured Person ceases to qualify as a dependent based on the definitions of the Policy
f) the Insured Person attains the coverage age limit specified
g) termination of coverage for all policies in a certain market
  • What are the disadvantages on switching policy from one insurer to another?
    One of the main disadvantages is if your current health status is less favourable to the new insurer, new terms may be imposed to exclude such illness To ensure continuous cover is provided, you are advised to check with us on the accepting terms prior to your policy expiry date.

1. Who is eligible to apply for Malaysia Senior Gold Life Insurance Protection Plan?
A person whose age is 18 and above is eligible to apply. Minimum and maximum age limits for the life assured are set from 50 to 80 years old (last birthday) respectively.


2. How is the Basic Sum Assured of my policy obtained?
Your policy’s Basic Sum Assured is subject to your entry age, gender and the number of units of insurance coverage you have purchased. For example, a female aged 50 years old who has purchased 5 units of insurance coverage under SeniorGold Plan, her Basic Sum Assured will be 5 times of the amount stipulated in the Sum Assured Schedule, i.e. RM17,397 x 5 = RM86,985.


3. Will the premiums increase with my age?
No. You can rest assured that SeniorGold premium is guaranteed throughout the term of the policy.

4. Does the Basic Sum Assured change when my age increases?
Do not worry. Your Basic Sum Assured of your policy will remain unchanged regardless of your age.

5. Will I get some money back should I surrender my policy before it matures?
Yes, you will get your cash value of your policy after three (3) years your policy has been in force.


6. Are there any exclusions?
Yes, but the exclusions are only applicable to Accidental Death Benefi t (please refer to policy contract) These are:- War, Civil War, Terrorism; AIDS and Diseases including Dengue Fever and Japanese Encephalitis; Childbirth and Miscarriage; Provoked Murder or Assault; Travelling as an Aircraft Crew; Aerial Activities; Martial Arts and Racing; Radiation, Nuclear Weapons Materials, Intoxication by Alcohol and Drugs.

Foreign Workers Hospitalisation and Surgical Scheme
Skim Perlindungan Insurans Kesihatan Pekerja Asing (SPIKPA)

The Hospitalisation and Surgical Scheme for Foreign Workers / Skim Perlindungan Insurans Kesihatan Pekerja Asing (SPIKPA) is a mandatory medical coverage for all foreign workers, effective 1 January 2011. Enforced by the Ministry of Health, all foreign workers are required to take up this compulsory scheme with a premium of RM120 and a total coverage of RM10,000.

This scheme is compulsory for:

  • foreign plantation workers (only in Sabah) – premium to be paid by the employers.
  • foreign workers in other sectors – premium can either be paid by the employers or the workers. In the event that the employer decides to pay in advance on behalf of the employers, permission from Director General, Labor Department Peninsular Malaysia is required for salary deduction purpose.

This scheme is optional for domestic foreign maids and foreign plantation workers (in other states). However, it is highly encouraged for them to take up this scheme to enjoy the medical benefits.

However, if you’re looking to have treatment at a hospital where we don’t have such an arrangement, let us know prior to treatment commencing.   • International Emergency Medical Assistance
    As a core benefit of all our plans, our overseas evacuation and repatriation service is available wherever you are in the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.This means that in the case of an emergency and if, in the opinion of an appointed doctor, you can’t get the prompt in-patient treatment you need locally, we will arrange to move you to the nearest appropriate facility where it is available. Whether that’s to another country, your principal country of residence or your home country, it’s just a phone call away.
